ggMonster

Like I said, I’m moving on to another interest, and that interest is ggMonster.  What is ggMonster?  ggMonster is a site focused on the gaming and animanga genres.  We will basically do features/reviews/previews on certain pc games/anime/manga.  In addition, you can join the fray by registering on the ggMonster forums.  We are still looking for dedicated and awesome staff so feel free to register on forums and apply!

I can’t guarantee that I will be continuing this site, but I will be creating another blogsite for personal use using blogger.  I’ll keep you guys updated…so for those who actually enjoyed my rants/posts, feel free to head on over to ggMonster…for those who didn’t, it is time to say goodbye.

Goodbye!

Beyond the Horizons

Source: Vediant from DeviantArt

As with many things in life, going solo isn’t always the best way to go about things.  For that reason I’ll be moving beyond this blog to bigger and slightly more aspirational horizons.  The new website will be operated by myself and two other aspirees, so I hope those who enjoyed reading this site will check out the new one.  It’s not up yet though so I’ll update this post on the other site’s grand opening.  Don’t worry, the main focus will still be on the fun and interesting games that we all enjoy!

Domain of Heroes Update: 04/29

If you haven’t noticed by now, Domain of Heroes occupies a large part of my “gaming repertoire.”  This is not only because Domain of Heroes allows almost hands-off gaming (I can leave it on at night to “afk-farm”), it is also because it combines aspects within gaming that I enjoy (treasure-hunting, social chatting, an active trading market, great moderators, and an engaged community).

That being said, I must admit that until recently, most of the time I spent on DoH was aimless and without focus.  Now, to my defense I must add that I did spent a significant amount of time on the forums reading the guides, reading strategy, and in general gaining hints and tips from people.  However, I did not really stick to a specific principle in mind until I rejoined a couple weeks ago.

As someone who is primarily focused on finding the sweet treasures in the land of Dohria, recently I took a look at a guide titled “A guide: Orc Jack, MFing the cheap and easy way” written by Bartleby Jones.  Here he describes one of the easier ways of building a successful Magic Find character in DoH.

As of last night, I am happy to say I accomplished the hardest part of the guide, and that is hitting 6000 Power.  As of now, I am sitting on a nice 6099 POW (w/462% Physical Damage Multiplier), 4136 LUK, 102 MND, 486 END, 225 AGI, and 194 LIF.

Needless to say, I am very proud of myself, and here is the link to my character info: Lots.

And now, goodnight and happy hunting!

Domain of Heroes Update: 04/19

After a long hiatus, I recently logged into my favorite browser game of all time: Domain of Heroes.

Although the longingly-awaited update has yet to hit the game, DoH definitely provides a fresh alternative to the current RTS browser games such as Evony II or Heroes of Gaia.  Since you are basically auto-attacking monsters in a certain location, DoH is very social because you can chat, trade, and do other stuff while improving your levels, items, skills, etc.

I’ve never been into only text browser games, but DoH manages to keep me coming back even then.  One new skill that was added while I was out was the modifier “+1 to all skills”, which is pretty self-explanatory.

Although the game is still buggy and broken in certain regards, with little balance at the moment, it still manages to pull me in…and once the update hits the game I’m sure it will be much more well-known.

Evony Age II

I’m sure most people have already been exposed to the hype, degradation, and utter chaos that has been brought into the online gaming world by Evony.  I for one did not have the time or will to try out Evony, as it was reputed to be created for its money-making potential by some random company based in China.  However, I did decide to give it a try as it had expanded into Facebook.

So…Evony Age II – I was expecting the worst, but came out of it pleasantly surprised.  Perhaps the developers realized that their image was going down the shithole and decided to clean up their act a bit.  Maybe I’m just used to games that require you to pay to gain some sort of advantage (Domain of Heroes, any F2P MMO, etc…), but it didn’t seem like the developers were forcefeeding money-spending to me.  Sure there was the obligatory welcome message to spend money and sure there were many times where spending money would have helped speed the process of city and army building.  However, with time and patience, it really didn’t seem to bother me too much.  Also, they give you a  free 5c of coin to spin their lottery every day that you log in, so I was probably fooled into thinking the creators of Evony Age II were gracious masters of my life.

Anyways, although I don’t want to promote it too enthusiastically, give it a try…it’s worth a spin.  Here’s the link: Evony Age II.
